A vibrant community

Our Vibrant Community

Join us.  We are in a town with a buzz. We have growth, more jobs, better incomes (but yes more traffic) and more visitors and other signals of vibrancy as well. Leisure World now has a new physiotherapy service: rehabilitation, sports massage and pre and post-natal physiotherapy to add to impressive sports facilities - the 100-station gym, a new functional training area, two swimming pools and 90+ group fitness classes every week, along with courts and pitches.

Each week many volunteers give their time for others. It is great that 125 of them will enjoy a special ‘thank you’ lunch hosted by Colchester Mayor, Cllr Gerard Oxford at the town hall. All have been nominated by a range of charities and worthy causes for their passion and dedication to helping others. The lunch is sponsored and supported by a range of local businesses, who like this Lib Dem led Council care about their borough, their town, and our residents.

And an old beech tree in High Woods Country Park is to be transformed into a monumental work of art, thanks to the talents of chainsaw sculptor Mark Russell. The carving, which may take 3 days of work, will feature some of the wildlife of the park, as well as the face of a Green Man, a once-popular motif in Medieval churches representing the living spirit of nature. The carving will be topped off with a larger-than-life woodpecker. This great idea was commissioned by your Lib Dem led Council. Rather than just a stump in the children’s play area they and we will have an attractive new feature to admire: three illustrations of Colchester art, sport and service to others.  Signals of a vibrant town and borough. Join us. Support us.
