Voter ID is being brought in a desperate attempt by the Tory government to prevent people who are less likely to support them from voting.

It is an expensaive solution to a problem which does not exist (there have been hardly anycases of electoral fraud by personation)

The Government think their scheme could cost up to £180,000,000 a decade. We don’t need to spend millions to put up barriers to people taking part in our democracy. This money would be better spent on helping with the cost of living or staffing our NHS.

You will need to show ID at your local polling station in order to vote in any election going forward.

If you register for a postal vote, you can vote early and you won’t need to provide any ID, as it’s sent directly to your registered address.
