Tough Times Are Here

Colchester City Council has some tough times to work through.

Runaway inflation, soaring energy costs and little sign of help from government means a perfect storm. Made worse by the Tory debacle of changing Prime Ministers and Chancellors, and their disastrous mini-budget, a legacy of turmoil and extra debt that affects us all.

Your Lib Dem led Council will have to balance the budget, with or without help, to cut costs, review services and raise some income where it can. This will be very challenging. But we will work with staff, partners and other parties to make the best decisions we can.

We will find a way through. Keeping the best we have, looking after our great staff and our residents. Working with others make sure that we help those most in need and remain ambitious for better.
